Boston Terrier in NYC (Ps Edit)

Monday, January 28th, 2008

Here’s a photoshop edit of the BT in NYC picture I just posted. I made it for a school project, and I might as well admit that I was heavily inspired by Andy Warhol. I like it though, it’s colorful and has a cute dog in it :)

Boston Terrier in NYC

Monday, January 28th, 2008

This one I dug out of the treasure chest. It is one of the first pictures I ever took with a SLR camera. The camera was of the old non-digital kind, so I had to develop the film and everything. Great fun, but time consuming. I took this picture in NYC when I stayed there for a week in 2007. I think I was trying to find the The Norwegian seamen’s church, when I stumbled over this little Boston Terrier just sitting there. The light was right, so I took a few shots, then walked on. I don’t know why, but I really like this pic. I think it’s the old school charm, mixed with a cute dog, that does it.

Loop the Loop

Wednesday, January 23rd, 2008

I shot this one this fall, the same time as the other airplane pictures. It is one of my favourite airplane pics.
It was a real lucky shot. Though luck is usually a big part of it. I took several pics to increase the chance of getting a good one, but although you can do a lot to get a good picture, luck is the factor that decides it.

Hobo Reloaded

This is a photoshop edit of a picture I posted some days ago. I ‘m still not satisfied though, so I might give it another go later.

Icy Leaves

Tuesday, January 22nd, 2008

This is a picture I took just before xmas. We had a period of freezing cold weather, but with no snow, and everything was coated with ice crystals. I spotted this twig when I was walking the dog, and went back the next day with my camera. I didn’t feel particurlary bright standing there, taking pictures of a twig, but I like the result. I must admit I played with it a little in Lightroom to get the right contrast and brightness, but it made it all so much better.

Hobo in London

Monday, January 21st, 2008

I went to London this fall, and brought my camera, hoping to get to snap some pics. Unfortunately, the weather was really bad, and the light wasn’t good at all. But I did stumble upon this man sleeping in a doorway, and thought it was a pretty good motif. I like how it turned out, but the man may be a little hard to spot at first. I did fool around in photoshop to make him stand out a little more, but I should probably spend some more time on it. Not today though.

Lion in Venice

Sunday, January 20th, 2008

This is a picture I took in Venice this fall. Since Venice’s patron is St. Mark the Evangelist the city is virtually littered in statues of lions. This was an ageing stone lion protruding from a wall. As I walked past I had to take a few shots, and I’m pleased with the result.

Bleriot XI

Sunday, January 20th, 2008

To keep up with the aircraft theme I’m posting a picture I took of a Bleriot XI. This is the same kind of plane that the norwegian Tryggve Gran used when he became the first person to fly across the North Sea. I am quite satisfied with the dark colors of this picture, and the play between the dark colors and the sunlight.

NH90

Sunday, January 20th, 2008

This is the cockpit of a NH90 helicopter belonging to the Norwegian coastguard. I’m really happy with this picture, because I like things that fly (planes and helicopters and such). And I also really like how I composed this image, following “the rule of thirds” with the joystick lit up by the sun and everything else blurred and in the shade further back.
